AD is a free man: Washington Football Team releases Adrian Peterson

According to reports, the Washington Footbal Team has released veteran RB Adrian Peterson.

Fantasy Insight

Well so much for Peterson being a value pick. This is a shocking roster move, given that Washington had already released Derrius Guice a few weeks ago. The 35 year old rushed for 1,000 yards last year and was reportedly looking great in camp. Peterson will hope to be picked up by a contender.

This move signals that Bryce Love, the 2nd year RB out of Stanford, is healthy and looks to be the best ball carrier in Washington. He immediately becomes draftable as a RB3/Flex, and should be taken as early as the 7th round. Antonio Gibson will the more popular play, given his prowess as a receiver. I would only draft him as a starter in Full PPR format, around the same range as Tarik Cohen and the like.
