DraftHustle’s Top DFS Plays (Bop) and Fades (Flop) of the week for FanDuel

QB
Bop – Geno Smith – LVR, $7,200 – vs Bears

Geno Smith put up a solid stat line in week 3, throwing for 283 yards and 3 TDs against the Commanders. This week he gets another great matchup in a game against the Chicago Bears. The Bears give up the 3rd most FanDuel PPG on the season and have allowed a league high 8 pass TDs on the year. In a game with a respectable 45 O/U, expect plenty of points in this matchup.
Flop – Baker Mayfield – TB, 7,700 – vs Eagles
Baker Mayfield has feasted on mediocre to bad matchups so far this season, but he will be facing a really good Philadelphia Eagles defense in week 4. The Eagles are the 8th worst matchup for QBS in adjusted DvP on the year. Mike Evans is out for the next few weeks, and Chris Godwin will be limited at best if he plays. I would avoid all Buccaneers in DFS this week.
RB
Bop – Omarion Hampton – LAC, $7,000 – vs Giants

Najee Harris suffered a season ending Achilles injury in week 3 and Omarion Hampton took full advantage. Hampton totaled 129 all-purpose yards and scored a rushing TD after fully taking over the RB duties. He gets a great matchup this week against the New York Giants, who have given up the 4th most rushing yards, 2nd most rushing TDs, and 3rd most Fanduel PPG to RBs this year.
Flop – Jonathan Taylor – IND, $9,600 – vs Rams
Jonathan Taylor has been the unquestioned RB1 in season-long leagues this year, but I am fading him in DFS in week 4. He faces the Los Angeles Rams who are the worst matchup in the league for RBS. They give up the fewest FanDuel PPG, 5th fewest Total Yards per game, and have not allowed a TD to the RB position this year. With a bunch of value plays this week, there is no need to pay $9,600 in a bad matchup.
WR
Bop – Jakobi Meyers – LVR, $6,100 – vs Bears

We are once again attacking the Chicago Bears secondary, and Jakobi Meyers is set up nicely in this matchup. Despite Tre Tucker’s incredible week 3 performance, Meyers still leads the Las Vegas Raiders’ WRs in targets, target share, receiving yards, yards per route run, and targets per route run on the year. The Bears have the highest TD% allowed to WRs on the year, so this matchup gives Meyers a great chance to score his 1st TD of the season.
Flop – Malik Nabers – NYG, $8,400 – vs Chargers
After a great 2 weeks, Malik Nabers had an awful week 3 with only 2 catches for 13 yards. The New York Giants also decided to start rookie QB Jaxson Dart in week 4, against a stingy Denver Broncos defense, Denver is the 5th worst matchup for WRs on the year. The Giants have the 4th lowest Implied Team Total on the slate, so I would suggest rostering anyone in the Giant’s passing game this week in DFS.
TE
Bop – Travis Kelce – KC, $6,100 – vs Ravens

Travis Kelce’s days of being by far the best TE in the league are gone, but we can still play the matchups with him, and this is a great week to do it. He faces the Baltimore Ravens who are the 4th best matchup against TEs this year. They rank 2nd to last in yards per target allowed and yards per game allowed to the position. Kansas City is going to need to pass to keep up with the Ravens offense, which will help boost Kelce’s targets.
Flop – Zach Ertz – WAS, $5,000 – vs Falcons
Zach Ertz has the price we love in DFS, but the situation in week 4 is less than ideal. Jayden Daniels has been ruled out, so Mariota will get the start again, which only amounted to 3 catches for 36 yards for Ertz. He goes against the Atlanta Falcons who are the worst matchup for TEs so far this season. They rank 1st in TD% allowed and FanDuel PPG allowed, and 2nd in yards per target and yards per game allowed to TEs. Run away!
