Cam Newton headed to Boston!

Former MVP Cam Newton has signed a 1-year deal with the New England Patriots. The deal is reportedly worth up to $7.5 Million.

Fantasy Insight

This move was expected by most once Tom Brady left New England for Tampa Bay. By all accounts, Cam’s injured foot is fully healed and he will be the starter come week 1 for the Patriots. The Jarrett Stidham era will have to wait at least another year to begin.

Cam Newton immediately goes from being undraftable to a top 12 QB, at worst. The lack of top tier receiving weapons is offset by Cam’s rushing ability. He should come at a bit of a value given how little he performed last season. Julian Edelman becomes a viable top 24 WR once again, in PPR formats. James White remains a solid WR3/Flex in PPR leagues. Whoever gets the early downs work, whether it be Sony Michel or Damien Harris, gets a slight bump.
