Jahmyr Gibbs, RB from the University of Alabama, is selected by the Detroit Lions as the 12th pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Lions must be planning on running a pistol offense with a backfield of D'Andre Swift, David Montgomery, and now Jahmyr Gibbs. That's a joke as the more likely option is the Lions plan on trading or releasing D'Andre Swift. Gibbs is the best receiving threat of the top 3 RBs currently on the roster, so I would expect him to have the 3rd down and 2-minute offense role at a minimum to begin the year. He can also be a part time WR for at least the first 6 games while Jameson WIlliams serves his suspension. I anticipate him to be a low level RB3 in my initial rankings if the Lions keep all three of Gibbs, Montgomery, and Swift.
