NFL Free Agency started with a bang and it’s just heating up. The Minnesota Vikings have traded WR Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills a multitude of draft picks. The Buffalo Bills will receive Stefon Diggs and a 2020 7th round draft pick, while the Vikings will receive a 2020 1st, 2020 5th, 2020 6th and a 2021 4th round pick.
Fantasy Impact
Josh Allen is the biggest winner here, given he gets the only proven commodity involved in the deal. He gets an elite pass catcher who at the very list will help open up the running game for Devin Singletary. Allen was already a top 12 fantasy QB with a high floor thanks to his rushing ability, and this will only help to raise his ceiling. Diggs will lose some value given the obvious downgrade in QB. John Brown’s value will also drop slightly.
Adam Thielen gets a huge bump on value as long as he is healthy, and maybe he can return to his 2018 form. The Vikings will almost certainly invest in a WR via the draft, which is still scheduled to take place in late April. If they don’t make a significant investment, then 2nd year TE Irv Smith will most likely see increased usage. Kirk Cousins remains what he is, which is a mid-level QB 2 with upside.
