No NFL team is perfect, and every team can improve in some form or fashion. Here is my top want for every NFL team prior to the 2023 NFL Fantasy Season.
Detroit Lions – Give D’Andre Swift the keys!
Jamaal Williams became a fan favorite thanks to the Lions being on Hard Knocks, but D’Andre Swift is the more talented RB. In the 13 games he played last year, he only averaged 11 touches, and 7 carries a game. As the Lions improve on last year, they will need a solid run game to lean on to help both Jared Goff and that putrid defense. Give him 15 carries a game, Dan Campbell. PLEASE!!!
Chicago Bears – Give Justin Fields some help!
Justin Fields showed that he can be a QB1, regardless of how poor the weapons around him are. Despite losing Darnell Mooney to injury. Allen Robinson to free agency, and Chase Claypool underwhelming, he was able to finish as QB6. The Bears have the #1 pick in the upcoming draft, and there are rumors that they will trade out of that pick. If that is true, I hope they will use the compensation they receive to bolster the weapons around Fields.
Green Bay Packers – Trade for DeAndre Hopkins!
Aaron Rodgers has emerged from his hyperbaric chamber and is a new man….. maybe. There are rumors that he will be shipped, but I don’t think I am buying it. Aaron Rodgers won back-to-back MVPs when he had Davante Adams to throw to, and losing Adams showed the Packers and Rodgers how much an elite weapon means to a QB. Trading for DeAndre Hopkins isn’t the same as having Adams, but I believe Nuka has enough juice left to boost Rodgers back to top 12 Fantasy QB status.
Minnesota Vikings – Upgrade Adam Thielen!
Adam Thielen had a great 2 year run a few years back, but that moment has passed. Justin Jefferson is amazing, but the last 3 games of the Vikings season showed that he can be limited. The Vikings need to make some type of move to get a 2nd weapon capable of taking the pressure off Justin Jefferson to help keep that offense elite. The Vikings pick 24th in the draft, and their defense was horrific, so they will probably lean towards defense with that pick. If they decide to go WR, Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Jordan Addison would be ideal picks to line up opposite JJ18.
