According to reports, San Francisco QB Jimmy Garoppolo and TE George Kittle will miss multiple weeks with injuries. Jimmy Garoppolo re-aggravated a high ankle sprain he suffered in week 2 and is out indefinitely. George Kittle suffered a broken bone in his foot is expected to miss at least 6 weeks.
Fantasy Insight
The injuries keep piling up for the 49ers as 2 more starters are likely headed to Injured Reserve. Jimmy Garoppolo hasn't looked right since he returned from the ankle injury he suffered in week 2. Nick Mullens stepped in and performed well in week 8, so expect him to be the QB until Jimmy Garoppolo gets fully healthy. Mullens has performed decently in the past. He isn't a starter in single QB leagues, but can be a decent QB2 as a bye week fill-in in Superflex leagues.
George Kittle is in danger of missing the remainder of the season with his injury. Jordan Reed will be the next man up at TE for the 49ers when Kittle missed time earlier in the season. He had 2 decent games before being placed on IR. He was recently activated from IR, and should be readily available in all leagues from the waiver wire. After the top 3 TEs, anybody with a pulse can become viable at the position. If Reed isn't an option, taking a shot on TE Ross Dwelley wouldn't be the worst option in the world.
