Houston, we have a Brandin! Texans trade for WR

Updated: May 14, 2020

According to reports, the Los Angeles Rams have traded WR Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans for a 2nd round draft pick. The Rams are also giving up a future 4th round draft pick.

Fantasy Impact

Brandin Cooks is on the move yet again. This will be the 4th teams he’s been on in 6 seasons. When healthy he is a talented WR, having totaled 1,000+ receiving yards and 6+ receiving TDs in every season he played 16 games. There are plenty of targets to go around with the departure of Deandre Hopkins. For as long as he is healthy, he is a top 20 fantasy WR with weekly WR1 upside.

Deshaun Waston gets bumped back up to top 3 QB range with the addition of Cooks. Will Fuller and Kenny Stills become obvious downgrades to WR3 and WR status, respectively.

From the Rams’ perspective, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp both become more solid options, and both should remain top 20 fantasy WRs at worst. Cooks’ departure also means more targets for TEs Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee
