Just hours after being released by the Oakland Raiders, WR Antonio Brown has signed a 1 year, $15 million deal with the New England Patriots, including a $9 million signing bonus.
Fantasy Impact
It's kind of hard to believe that this wasn't the plan by Brown all along, if you think about it. Pittsburgh would have never traded him to New England, so AB made it happen on his own.
As stated previously, this move immediately elevates Tom Brady to QB1 status. I would expect a slight decline in targets for Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, and James White. As for AB, he goes from a low end WR1 to a weekly mid-range WR2 with upside. This is nice reward for all the owners who drafted him with a 3rd/4th round pick. Hopefully, now we can focus on football.
