Draft Season is here! Bestball Leagues are flowing! The NFL Preseason is upon us. DraftHustle is here to get you ready to dominate your drafts and get to the money and the trophies! This is part of a series I am titling "Pump & Dump". From each team, I will be choosing one player I am high on (Pump), and one player I am avoiding in fantasy drafts for the 2021 season (Dump). You can check out my rankings here!
PUMP – Tyler Conklin, TE
NFFC ADP – TE89 (#279 Overall)
NDL Rank – TE27
This one is kinda obvious, as Irv Smith Jr. just underwent knee surgery and will be out for a while. Tyler Conklin came on late last season after Kyle Rudolph went down, averaging over 5 targets a game in the last 4 weeks of the season. Irv Smith was a top break out TE candidate for everyone coming into the season, but chances are Conklin was already a threat to him. He gets a chance to start now, and will make a great DFS punt play in week 1.
DUMP – Kirk Cousins, QB
NFFC10 ADP – QB16 (#127 Overall)
NDL Rank – QB18
Kirk Cousins in one of many examples of QBS who are better in actual football than fantasy. He has plenty of weapons getting darfted, which makes him a solid QB2. The issue is in leagues that only start 1 QB, if you are drafting a 2nd QB, it is always better to draft one with upside to be a top 6. Cousins doesn’t have the usage or the rushing ability to become that. Leave him on the wire unless you need a safe QB2 in Superflex leagues.
