Pump or Dump 2021 – San Francisco 49ers

Draft Season is here! Bestball Leagues are flowing! The NFL Preseason is upon us. DraftHustle is here to get you ready to dominate your drafts and get to the money and the trophies! This is part of a series I am titling "Pump & Dump". From each team, I will be choosing one player I am high on (Pump), and one player I am avoiding in fantasy drafts for the 2021 season (Dump). You can check out my rankings here!

PUMP – George Kittle, TE

NFFC ADP – TE3 (#32 Overall)

NDL Rank – TE2

George Kittle has been the consensus TE3 this off season, but I currently have him as my #2 TE. I always tend to lean towards upside, and George Kittle has displayed plenty. He remains the top pass catcher in the San Francisco offense. Injuries and lack of TDs have been his only knocks in his career, both of which are flukey and tough to predict, which cause him to drop in drafts thus boosting his value.

DUMP – Trey Sermon, RB

NFFC10 ADP – RB29 (#73 Overall)

NDL Rank – RB37

I’m all for being high on rookie RBs, but I prefer those RBs to be the projected lead ball carrier (i.e. Najee Harris). Trey Sermon is the clear #2 behind Raheem Mostert in an offense that will use a minimum of 3 RBs. Wayne Gallman will get plenty of touches as well, leaving not much for Sermon. He is being drafted as a RB3 ahead of the starter Raheem Mostert, and those are 2 reasons he will be on a very few of my rosters as long as his ADP remains that high. Draft him as a lottery ticket bench player for now.
