Teddy signs with Panthers; End of Cam Era?

The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent QB Teddy Bridgewater to a 3-year, $63 million contract, signaling the beginning of the end for Cam Newton in Carolina.

Well, that escalated quickly. Earlier today, the Carolina Panthers announced they are allowing QB Cam Newton permission to seek a trade. Shortly after that the Teddy Bridgewater deal was announced. I personally super happy, considering where Teddy has come from the devastating to where he is now.

Fantasy Impact

Teddy Bridgewater (or anybody for that matter) is a huge upgrade from the Kyle Allen/Will Grier fiasco. Teddy is talented enough to keep D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey fantasy relevant with no drop off. I would place Bridgewater in the large group of 10-15 QBs who could be ranked in the top half of QB2 range. In a 2QB/Superflex league, he is a strong candidate to pair with an upside QB1.
