Todd Gurley-Homecoming: Falcons sign All-Pro Running Back.

All-Pro running back Todd Gurley has signed with the Atlanta Falcons less than 24 hours after he was released by the Los Angeles Rams. He has signed a one-year deal for $6 million.

Fantasy Impact

Todd Gurley may not be what he was back in 2017, but I believe he is still capable of being a workhorse running back who has great receiving ability and a nose for end zone. The Falcons have superior weapons surrounding Gurley as well as a much better offensive line than the Rams. The opposing defenses in the NFC South aren’t as tough as those in the NFC West. As of today, I would draft Gurley as a low end RB2 with upside.

The Rams backfield is much less clear. Darrell Henderson was expected to be the beneficiary of a limited Todd Gurley in the Rams backfield, and he will now get that chance. By all accounts, he will get the first shot at being the main ball carrier in L.A. I would draft him as a RB3 with RB2 upside. Malcolm Brown should be treated as his handcuff.
