Week 1 DFS Fanduel Plays

Lamar Jackson – QB, BAL ($7,400)

QBs are rarely highly owned in DFS, but I expect Lamar to be the rare exception in this matchup. Miami is the best matchup vs QBs heading into the season. Lamar’s rushing gives him a solid floor for all of your cash lineups.

RB

Dalvin Cook – RB, MIN ($7,400)

The Falcons have been a feeding ground for RBs the past few seasons, especially in the receiving game. With Latavius Murray out of town and Stefon Diggs hobbled, expect Cook to be more involved in the passing game than normal. Cook should provide great salary relief to allow you to squeeze a stud WR into your cash lineups.

WR

John Brown – WR, BUF ($5,500)

John Brown was criminally underrated in fantasy drafts this off-season, and I believe that will be the case in Week 1 as well. The Jets secondary is below average at best, and John Brown has the deep speed and QB to take advantage. With a $5,500 price tag on Fanduel, it only takes one successful deep ball for him to return value.

TE

Will Dissly – TE, SEA ($4,000)

I am a firm believer in taking a “Stud or Dud” approach when it comes to TE in DFS. If you are looking to fade the high priced TEs this week, I believe Will Dissly has a shot @ 4k to give you 2.5x value against the Bengals secondary. Seattle has the 3rd highest Vegas implied Total, which tends to correlate well with TE scoring.

D/ST

Detroit Lions – ($4,100)

With Baltimore & Seattle expected to be the go-to D/STs, I like going a little contrarian with the Detroit Lions vs a banged-up Arizona Cardinals team. They are missing starting offensive linemen, and have a first time head coach and QB starting, so I like this Lions D/ST to rack up some sacks and a turnover or two.
