Week 1 is finally over! None of those points will carry over to week 2, so its time to find the guys who will score you points in week 2. These are my favorite players to target. (Based on players who are owned in 67% or less of Yahoo fantasy leagues)
QB
Josh Allen (32%), BUF vs Giants – We all saw what Dak Prescott did to that Giants’ defense. Josh Allen isn’t that good, but he should make for a solid streamer in Week 2.
Sam Darnold (26%), NYJ vs Browns – The Titans carves up the Browns on Sunday. The Jets get them on Monday Night at home, and fed up Jameis Winston/Kirk Cousin owners can scope the 2nd year QB.
Matt Stafford (26%), DET vs Chargers – The Lions fooled us all by claiming they were going to run the ball more. Stafford is healthy and has plenty of weapons for all owners looking for streamers.
RB
Gio Bernard (15%), CIN vs 49ers – Joe Mixon suffered an ankle injury on Sunday and may miss a game or 2. Gio will get 25+ touches every game Joe Mixon happens to miss.
Chris Thompson (14%), WAS vs Cowboys – Derrius Guice may or may not have a serious knee injury that may or may not keep him out a few weeks. Either way, the Redskins will trail a lot, and Chris Thompson is in line to get plenty of targets out of the backfield.
Ronald Jones (29%), TB vs Panthers – The Bucs’ offense looked pitiful in week 1. Ronald Jones was the lone bright spot, so stash him on your bench and wait for Arians to finally unleash him.
Adrian Peterson (39%), WAS vs Cowboys – Peterson is going from a healthy scratch to lead ball carrier. AS long as Guice is on the shelf, Peterson is a candidate for 15+ carries a week.
Malcolm Brown (14%), LAR vs NO – Darrell Henderson is not who we thought he was. Malcolm Brown is the real Gurly handcuff. Don’t expect 2 TDs every week, but expect Malcolm to take over the lead role if Gurley gets injured.
WR
Marquise Brown (30%), BAL vs Cardinals – Despite only playing 12 snaps in week 1, Hollywood Brown made the most of them. As he gets healthier and more experienced, expect more snaps and more consistent production.
Tyrell Williams (64%), OAK vs Chiefs – With the AB drama finally done for good, Tyrell filled in the #1 WR role and did not disappoint. Expect weekly WR2 production as long as he is healthy.
Mecole Hardman (15%), KC vs Raiders – Tyreek Hill is expected to out for up to 2 months with a shoulder injury. Expect Mecole Hardman to get the majority of Hill’s snaps and possibly get some of his production in this high-powered offense.
John Brown (51%), BUF vs Giants – John Brown is the #1 in the Bills offense and his connection with Josh Allen will only go stronger as the year goes on. Brown is a WR3 with weekly top 15 upside.
Desean Jackson (67%), PHI vs Falcons – Desean Jackson put on a show in his revenge/homecoming game in week 1. Ill expect about 4-5 more of these types of games in this offense, so pick him up for your bye weeks if he’s available.
TE
T.J. Hockenson (54%), DET vs Chargers – Hockenson proved that he was worthy of being picked #7 overall in the draft with his week 1 performance. Anyone who doesn’t own a top 3 TE should be spending 25-35% of their FAAB budget on him.
Darren Waller (45%), OAK vs Chiefs – Darren Waller lived up to the Hard Knocks hype in the season opener vs the Broncos. The best part is he played 100% of the snaps. Waller is firmly entrenched as a TE1 until further notice.
Vernon Davis (3%), WAS vs Cowboys – As long as Jordan Reed is on the shelf, Vernon Davis is a viable TE streamer. If you miss out on Waller or Hockenson, Davis is a solid secondary target.
D/ST
Cowboys (67%), vs Redskins – Cowboys should be the top streaming D/ST option for all owners in need. Not only do they get the Redskins in week 2, but they get the Dolphins in week 3.
Texans (52%), vs Jaguars – The Texans go from facing Hall of Famer Drew Brees and the Saints on the road to 6th round rookie QB Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars at home. Nothing else needs to be said.
Panthers (8%), vs Bucs – Similar to the Texans, the Panthers go from playing the Rams and Sean McVay to Captain turnover Jameis Winston on a short week. Multiple sacks and multiple turnovers are not out of the question for the Panthers D/ST.
