DraftHustle’s Top DFS Plays of the week for FanDuel
QB
Patrick Mahomes – KC vs Bengals - $8,700
Patrick Mahomes has not been his normal elite self for a white, but I like his chances to bounce back in this wonderful matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 2. Mahomes averages 271 pass yards and 2 TDs in 4 games against the Bengals, which I see as his floor in this matchup. The Chiefs have the 2nd highest Vegas Implied team Total on the Slate (27 points), so I expect Mahomes to put up numbers in a shootout.
RB
Zach Charbonnet – SEA vs Patriots - $6,300
Kenneth Walker is currently listed as doubtful, which mean Zach Charbonnet is set to take over lead ball carrier duties for the Seattle Seahawks in week 2. He averaged 19 touches in two starts last season, so the workload will be there. The New England Patriots were a middle of the pack defense against RBs last year. They gave up 61 yards and a TD to Zack Moss in week 1. That feels like the floor for Charbonnet, making him a great Cash game play with tourney upside.
WR
Cooper Kupp – LAR vs Cardinals - $7,700
Cooper Kupp was a stud last week, and with Puka Nacua being placed on IR, he is back to being the primary pass catching target for Matthew Stafford. He put up a stellar 21/14/110/1 stat line and is in line to dominate again in week 2. The Cardinals do not have anyone in their defensive secondary who can slow down Cooper Kupp. He should be a $9,000 player at minimum while Kupp is out, so plugging him in any lineup at $7,700 is a lock.
TE
Travis Kelce – KC vs Bengals - $7,400
Travis Kelce was very mediocre in week 1 against the Ravens, but I expect him to step up a bit in week 2 in a much better matchup. The Chiefs face the Bengals, who were very bad against the TE position in 2023. They ranked bottom 4 in yards per game allowed, yards per target allowed, and FanDuel PPG allowed to the position. In a competitive game with a high O/U (48 Points), Travis Kelce will look to be involved early and often in this matchup.
D/ST
Seattle Seahawks– vs Patriots - $4,000
The Seattle Seahawks come into their week 2 against the New England riding the momentum of dominating the Denver Broncos in week 1. They were able to pile up 2 sacks, 2 INTS, and a fumble recovery against the Broncos. The New England Patriots offense is not good, so expect Seattle to dominate them in this low scoring matchup. (38.5 O/U)
