Week 3 Waiver Wire Report

Week 3 is finally over! None of those points will carry over to week 4, so it’s time to find the guys who will score you points in week 3. These are my favorite players to target.

(Based on players who are owned in 67% or less of Yahoo fantasy leagues)

QB

Matthew Stafford (51%) – DET vs Chiefs

Despite the subpar coaching job from Head Coach Matt Patricia, Matt Stafford is healthy and playing much better than last year. He is averaging 270 pass yards and 2 tds so far, and now he gets the Chiefs defense at home. Expect a lot of points in this matchup and Stafford to exceed his season averages. Hes a perfect waiver wire target for those looking to replace Jimmy Garoppolo, who is on bye in week 4.

Daniel Jones (12%) – NYG vs Redskins

Daniel Jones has arguably the best debut by a rookie in week 3. He passed for 336 yards and 2 TDs, and ran for 2 more TDs against the Bucs in the comeback victory. In week 4, he gets the Redskins defense, who is currently getting carved up by Mitch Trubisky and Taylor Gabriel. He should be in line for another solid outing.

Jacoby Brissett (20%) - IND vs Raiders

Kyle Allen (3%) - CAR vs Texans

Mason Rudolph (12%) – PIT vs CIN

RB

Darrell Williams (7%) – KC vs Lions

Darrell Williams was announced the starter in week 3 about an hour before kickoff and he proceeded to lead the Chiefs backfield in Snap Percentage (54%). Although he didn’t score, he led the team in rushing yards and had 100 total yards. LeSean McCoy hurt his ankle again, so Darrell looks to lead the team in carries again next week. He should be the top Waiver Wire target for all Barkley owners.

Wayne Gallman (6%) - NYG vs Redskins

The worst fear for fantasy came true on Sunday when Saquon Barkley suffered the dread high ankle sprain against the Bucs, and he expected to miss 4-8 weeks. Gallman took the majority of the snaps afterwards, although he didn’t get a lot of carries because the Giants were in comeback mode. Assuming the Giants don’t bring in a free agent, Gallman will be the Giants’ bell cow for the next few months and should see a healthy amount of carries.

Rex Burkhead (24%) – NE vs Bills

Darwin Thompson (31%) – KC vs Lions

Alexander Mattison (20%) MIN vs Bears

WR

D.J. Chark (41%) – JAC vs Broncos

D.J. Chark is having a much better sophomore season for the Jaguars, and he was taken the #1 Wr spot away from Dede Westbrook for the time being. He runs the routes that fit the play-style of QB Gardner Minshew. He gets the Broncos in week 4, which is not the best matchup, so Chark is more of stash play as the schedule really eases up after that.

Nelson Agholor (54%) PHI vs GB

The Eagles WR corps has been ravaged with injuries, with Desean and Jeffrey both missing week 3 leaving Agholor as the de-facto #1 WR. The Eagles play on Thursday in week 4, meaning that they will likely not play again, and Agholor will get a healthy amount of targets again.

Marquez Valdez-Scantling (52%) – GB vs Eagles

Diontae Johnson (4%) PIT vs CIN

Philip Dorsett (32%) NE vs Bills

TE

Will Dissly (45%) - SEA vs Cardinals

Dissly had a solid game in week 3, putting up a 7/6/62/1 line. The TD came on the very last play, which was an untimed down, but it all counts in fantasy football. He gets the Cardinals who have been abysmal vs TEs this year. George Kittle owners looking for a bye week replacement should be all over Dissly this week.

Vernon Davis (20%) – WAS vs Giants

Jordan Reed’s career may sadly be in jeopardy after another concussion, leaving Vernon Davis as the next man up. The Redskins don’t have much in terms of weapons outside of Terry McLaurin, so Vernon should be in line for a decent amount of targets for the forseeable future.

Trey Burton (42%) – CHI vs Vikings

Kyle Rudolph (50%) MIN vs Bears

Dallas Goedert (11%) PHI – vs Packers

D/ST

Denver (35%) vs Jaguars

The Denver Broncos go from facing Aaron Rodgers on the road to facing Gardner Minshew at home, which is much more favorable for them. They are far and away the best streaming option available in week 4. They currently have 0 sacks and 0 turnovers. I expect that to change against the Jaguars’ offense. Scoop them if you can.

Houston (52%) - vs Panthers

Pittsburgh (17%) – vs Bengals
