Week 1 DFS Fanduel Tournament Plays

NFL DFS is back! That mean here at DraftHustle we are back in the lab helping you cook up the money winning lineups! Here are DraftHustle’s Top Fanduel Tournament Plays of the week

QB

Ryan Tannehill – TEN ($7,700) vs Cardinals

Most people will be on the other side of this matchup, making Ryan Tannehill a solid contrarian play. The Cardinals secondary took a few big hits this off season, losing Patrick Peterson to the Vikings, and Malcolm Butler to retirement. The Titans will look to test out Julio Jones and A.J. Brown against a weak secondary. The Titans have the 2nd highest Vegas implied total (28) in the the game with the 2nd highest Vegas O/U. Tannehill has plenty of upside and lots a stacking options to take down a GPP in week 1.

RB

Raheem Mostert – SF ($6,100) vs Lions

Trey Sermon received all the love in fantasy drafts this off season, but he still remains the 1b at best to Raheem Mostert’s 1a in the 49ers backfield. Mostert is more explosive than Sermon and will lead the team in carries to start the season. He faces a very suspect Lions defense, so there will be plenty of rushing opportunities. With the 49ers being the biggest favorites according to Vegas (-8 Against the Spread), Mostert can be stacked with the 49ers defense, which is highly correlated in DFS.

WR

Devonta Smith – PHI ($5,300) vs Falcons

If you are struggling to think of a pass defense that was worse than the Falcons last season, its because there wasn’t one. They gave up the most receiving yards, most Fanduel Points, and the 3rd most yards per target to WRs last season, and they made no effort to improve the secondary. Devonta Smith is cheap enough to fit into almost any lineup build and has the speed and big pay ability to go for at 3x his salary in week 1.

TE

Austin Hooper – CLE ($5,100) vs Chiefs

The Cleveland Browns are going to need to put up points to keep up with the Chiefs in week 1. Odell Beckham’s availability is up in the air, meaning Hooper will be in the mix for heavy usage should OBJ sit out or be limited. The Chiefs ranked in the bottom 4th in the league in yards per target allowed, catch rate allowed, and yards per game allowed to TEs in 2020. A cheap alternative to the top guys in a high scoring game makes Hooper a solid contrarian play in week 1.

D/ST

Minnesota Vikings – ($3,800) vs Bengals

The Bengals lack of an offensive line has been a concern for them for years. The Minnesota Vikings will look to take advantage with the return of Pro Bowl D-Lineman Danielle Hunter and the addition DT Dalvin Tomlinson from the Giants. They have turnover and sack upside, and make a great correlated cash or GPP stack with Dalvin Cook.
